Brian Johnson
Brian Johnson was the lead singer and lyricist for AC/DC from 1980 to 2016. He was born on 5 October 1947 in Dunston, England and moved to Australia in 1960. Brian was initially the lead singer for the Australian hard rock band Geordie, but he rose to international fame and success when he joined AC/DC in 1980. He brought a new sound to the band, as his voice was very distinct and powerful.
Brian’s voice was a combination of a melodic baritone and a throaty roar. His style of singing attracted fans from all around the world and his stage performances were always spectacular. He wrote some of the band’s most famous hits, including “Thunderstruck” and “You Shook Me All Night Long”. Axl was originally the frontman for the popular rock band Guns N’ Roses, but he joined AC/DC as the new vocalist in 2016.
